I would usually get frogs out in February/March in Maple Ridge. I'm sure this warm weather helped the frogs to come out thoughSouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 5:50 am Yes these very warm days has fooled most creatures to appear much earlier from bugs to moths to several species of birds are out thinking it's late April or early May. it's currently 8c @ the pond in south Sardis.

Re: March 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Lots of frogs singing at my Bellingham place last night, which is not a surprise as it borders a wetland. Probably the last time I will hear them as I'm almost done emptying it out. It should go on the market next week.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I would like to golf Saturday AM and am praying for a dry window. Typical. The day I wanna go out is the day with highest chance of rain.

Re: March 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Work had me in London, Ontario for the past couple of weeks so unfortunately I missed all the nice weather. Instead I had my first experience with snow squalls last night. Of course it was the night I had to drive back to Toronto
EC had issued a warning for 15-35cm. Definitely did not receive that much, at least not in London, but the snowfall rates were very impressive at times!

We are looking into this and will have it working as soon as possible. We are hoping to have it fixed prior to the predicted rain this week.
I think it's better now but not 100% fixed...

Re: March 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
It often takes years to fix these things. Osoyoos recorded rain every time the irrigation system kicked on. It was years before they fixed it I think. Some stations record precipitation when the sun comes out, especially in the winter. It's often years before they get that straightened out.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 7:07 pm This morning: "We sent someone out for maintenance through it appears that it was not fixed properly. I've noticed this recorded at the Pitt Meadows station on various occasions.Glacier wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 7:40 am It often takes years to fix these things. It's crazy to me that my $1000 weather station is better at recording precipitation than some of the $100,000 ECCC stations!
