April 2024 Forecasts and discussion

Post by stuffradio »

This is no joke, we're getting close to April! Will we transition to more sustained summer-like weather this month, or will we have a mixed bag of rain and cool/warm temperatures on and off?

:wtf: It's too early for the April thread Stuffers but oh well my guess is since campfire bans will be ineffect in central B.C. this week :o all bets are off the table for what's next.
Also l predict an early exit by the Nukes in round 1 the way they played last night in a 3-2 loss against the Kings. :x :(

We're less than a week away from April. It's definitely not too early :)

I didn't think the Canucks played bad against the Kings. Unfortunately, we had a couple of fluky goals in the back of our net and Cam Talbot was probably better than Desmith that night. Despite all of that, the Canucks had a big push late in the third and almost tied the game.

I'm retiring from the weather discussions. Moving on to run for Justin Trudeau's team in the next election. Good bye.

Vancouver doesn't match up well with LA. They are better off playing Nashville.

I think it would also be more entertaining if we played Nashville vs LA. There's a slim chance LA gets bumped out of the playoffs by St Louis if they keep losing and the Blues keep winning.

Yup. St Louis is 3 points behind with Sharks, Ducks, and Hawks coming up in a row a very easy schedule. I would call it more the a slim chance. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if LA makes a run at 3rd in the Pacific.

Wide-ranging impacts of the ongoing drought. 160,000 trees are being cut down in Vancouver’s Stanley Park. They’ve died primarily due to an infestation of western looper moths. However, experts agree that it’s not just the moths. The trees have faced multiple other stressors, including severe summer droughts and unprecedented heat. Professor Richard Hamelin at UBC said last year that “maybe the trees would recover” if they were being affected by the moths alone. Stressors make trees more susceptible to a diseases and infestations.
