May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions

Post by stuffradio »

We're only a few days away from May and it's 13C and it has been pouring rain here. I wonder if we will be getting some of those May flowers? :)

Only 5 months until Thanksgiving!

The latest model is showing we may get to ~super Nina by Fall/Winter? Also June looks potentially wet.

Here's an interesting video of someone going over what he thinks the summer will be like.

What the hell does this even mean!??? A heatwave this week? Is this satire? Was this written by someone trying to undermine the credibility of climate science because, wow, this is obviously alarmism level 100! My forecasts show near average to maybe 2 degrees above average this week. What's so exceptional about that!?

Something other than a summer dominated by extreme torching would be most welcome.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Awesome! Stuffs an average or cooler than normal summer would be outstanding a super Nina would perhaps keep us entertained next winter no need to follow the Nukers then. :D

I'd be interested to know the analogue years for that forecast. Are they mentioned elsewhere?

I think they have subscriber based videos. I believe they would probably go over that in the video but I don't know.

Ridiculously stupid clickbait article. It's totally NORMAL to see warm spells even the odd hot spell in May. It would be abnormal if it remained cool and wet.
The truth is that it looks like one or two warmish days this week (Thus and Fri) then wet and cool for weekend and early next week. Some models are then showing a big ridge building in late next week perhaps for many days. Would certainly mean above normal temps going into the middle of the month. Nothing extreme though. The latest CPC is latching on to this pattern change. Would be nice it's been so cold it hasn't felt like April or May.
