Nice comeback victory last night , today we have temps knocking the socks off of EC's forecast. 19° was the call for my area, my high was 23.3° and white rock recorded 24.6°, even with the breeze.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 5:56 pm Relax Bones enjoy the Coiler/Nukes playoff round lots of moisture will eminate from your tear ducts once the Oil heads loose.

May have to send Sheriff Gooser to do a quality check at the Wrinkle Rock station skipper seems kinda inaccurate as an Oil can lead.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 6:24 pm Nice comeback victory last night , today we have temps knocking the socks off of EC's forecast. 19° was the call for my area, my high was 23.3° and white rock recorded 24.6°, even with the breeze.

Wow, we go right back into a chilly wet pattern after this weekend what happened to Cmen69's weeks of sunshine prediction.

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
I recharged the A/C for the van yesterday. It was quite hot, around 25/26C. We could be getting an aurora tonight!

Looks like we may be in a La Nina by June or July. Here's the latest forecast from yesterday.

Not necessarily. Still some model disagreement to work out over the coming days.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 8:17 pm Wow, we go right back into a chilly wet pattern after this weekend what happened to Cmen69's weeks of sunshine prediction.
Both the GFS and GEM want to build another heat ridge next week. The Euro, however, continues to insist upon a trough diving into BC.

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Another blown call by EC with their 19° high forecast for White Rock, already at 21° . But upon closer inspection it looks like a copy and paste from their YVR forecast.

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
The holdover fires from last summer are springing to life. The photo shows a pyrocumulonimbus (pyroCu) cloud just east of Fort Nelson, BC. These are convective clouds produced by wildfires. Interestingly, this pyroCu cloud was not caused by a recent fire in the region, but from a holdover fire that survived last year’s fire season and has seen renewed vigour in recent warm, dry conditions! Per the BC Wildfire Service, the fire danger rating in northeastern BC is currently high to extreme. In the absence of substantial rainfall in the region, it looks to remain this way. This fire is 2000ha in size.
