That's what makes me somewhat doubt the trend to eject most of the cold offshore. It could happen but I'm not entirely sold yet. :think:

No just using that as an example like January 2020 eventually we ended up with a decent cold snap after the initial off the charts cold that was modeled early on. So l'm suggesting if the models are showing the trough too far off shore this far out maybe it will drift east over the next few days and be in the sweet spot by game time?

Ahh yes. I could see a Jan 2020 type repeat. Still thinking the best analogue might be Feb 2017, as the Arctic air modelled to settle into the north and interior doesn't look quite as cold as Jan 2020 (ex. Prince George hit -40c in Jan 2020).

On the other hand the stars have to align too Tstar? like on the weekend there was celestial event apparently.
