I can’t exactly recall who here it is that likes to see Seattle get skunked, but this should warm the cockles of their heart.

The ECMWF trending west with that trough is not a positive sign.

Meh. It’s in cm, and it’s two weeks out. Really not that exceptional to get a foot of snow spread throughout a two-week chilly period.

I’m much more excited about the chance of scoring a decent snowfall this weekend. It’s within five days, and both the ECMWF and the GFS are spitting out encouraging maps. We will see what happens in deep clown range later.
It's called clown range for a reason.

A win tonight Granddaddyp2233 and there in a wildcard spot plus snow this weekend is a double win perhaps.

I’m not extrapolating trends. I’m just going with current model consensus. Which is pretty strong for a snowfall on Sunday. When the Euro and the GFS agree on something (GFS map below), it usually happens. (Caveat is that we’re still a few days out, so they could both be out to lunch.)

It could easily be just noise on the Euro and it will bounce back on the 12Z. Time will tell.

As of right now, though, I’m starting to get excited. It is now within five days of the modelled event, and both of the top models are showing something.
