12Z NAM 3km says 925 mbar temps should be around -4˚C all day Saturday, so Saturday's showers should be snow showers. But they will be light and spotty. So expect flurries for most or many on Saturday.

Haven't had much time to follow the models in the last couple days -- thanks for posting the maps.

When the GFS first latched onto this, it was looking like Saturday night would be when we switched over to snow. Later runs delayed this to Sunday morning.

Looks like timing has sped up in the lead up to the event. That is typically a good sign. All that cold air spilling out over the ocean usually results in a low forming pretty much along the arctic front, dropping down the coast. Would be nice to see it stall off the coast of the island as the front moves through the canyon and valley.

I'm sorry, but the EC forecast 48 hours out is a joke. Sure, okay, 4 to 5 days out you want to hedge your bets? Fine. But 48 hours out? It's dangerous and dishonest to have such a forecast. They are usually not this conservative, so I have no idea what is going on.
Most of the general public do not read weather statements. I talked to around 30 different people who think it will rain this weekend, all because of the EC. If mayhem happens and people are not prepared on the roads, they should be liable as well.

Once again talking about how we transition from such positive heights and ridging into a cold and snowy pattern. Noted. Theres only one way for those Positive Heights to go...and thats downward 8-) 8-)
