For now but that surface low could still trend further north. It's still a long ways out. But the reload also looks less potent.

Split flow. Gradual moderation. Mild rains.
We will probably see Mountain snow in March but it's absolute Sh*t way to end the ski season.

The worst way to end an arctic blast. Can we go back to the 50's and 60's or even the 90's?wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 10:38 pm Split flow. Gradual moderation. Mild rains.

Gradual moderation out of a cold snap has occurred plenty of times in the past, even over 100 years ago. Just something part of our winter climate.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Of course. But overrunning events do seem less frequent. No to mention that the arctic blasts in the 50's and 60's were simply way more dynamic than anything we have experienced in the 2000's. It's just become way less frequent to see a polar lobe dive down from the NE and come out over the water. That classic old school setup would deliver extreme outflow winds and heavy snowfall. The good old times.

Go team Icon!
It was lightly snowing on Cypress right down to Highway 1 at 9pm when I came home from the mountain.

RH at YVR has been creeping up all night. Maybe there's some light virga that's under the radar level causing this?

Winters mostly suck around here...minus the few days of snow we get a year.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 11:03 pm Of course. But overrunning events do seem less frequent.
