Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Looking at the Euro and GFS models, that sounds low to me. I’d say 2–4" is most likely. Bet the official forecast busts.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 3:43 pm Portland weenies on the AF are upset NWS Portland only going for an inch of snow/ice it's fun to read the bashing down there.
Also, if there’s not a strong south wind to clean the cold air out, expect Portland to stay in the icebox until sometime this weekend. The cold air can be VERY stubborn there. I remember one storm in 2004 where for most of a week the official forecast was “trust us, the thaw is coming tomorrow.” Eventually it did, days late.
It's called clown range for a reason.

The Nam tries as well. If it wasn't the GFS and NAM pushing the snow narrative I'd be getting mildly curious by now.

I actually believe GFS over Euro for the reasons I said this morning i.e. scouring out cold too fast

They are both wrong. The other micro maps are better. Macro maps have too much bleed.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 6:55 pm I actually believe GFS over Euro for the reasons I said this morning i.e. scouring out cold too fast

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
It seems to have almost settled on a track that favours south Washington. The gfs trended south and gem met north to meet in the middle. A big one probably isn’t happening here but an over performance is always possible.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
sad looking slow roll into the rain
Lookiing like a #2 or #3 for sure now and
not much to pick from, but based on ECs sadcast, it looks like one of the following:
2) Starts as snow > Turns to rain within a few hours > Total 0.5-1cm of sloppy goo
3)Starts as snow > then turns to rain quickly > >Turns everything into a clear glaze > 1-2mm of sloppy slush
