Glacier wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:25 am You are pushing antisemitic Tucker Carlson/Darryl Cooper propaganda. Tucker's interview with the supposed historian Darryl Cooper has been thoroughly debunked. No time in the history of the world has urban warfare killed so few people as Israel. No one has ever been more careful not to kill civilians. And yet, because it's the Joooz, people like Tucker get all upset. Double standard to the max because F*** the Jews. Sorry man, I don't like antisemitism at all. It's gross and justifies rape and murder. Oct 7th. meh. 70 Christians beheaded in the DRC. meh. 200 Africans captured as sex slaves in Nigaria. Meh. But Israel fighting for her life against a death cult that hates Jews as much as Hitler, and that's the real genocide because f** the Jews. Only Jews aren't allowed to defend themselves according to Tucker Carlson and other Putin stooges. Worse, defending oneself is called genocide.

If Trump sent up a 10,000 fighters into the Lower Mainland and they raped your wife and children, and we bombed the hell out of Seattle as they hid behind children while continuing to send rockets into Vancouver, would you call that genocide?

This is not what genocide looks like...

Since propaganda has been mentioned, I feel the need to add onto that. What has occurred in Gaza since October 2023 amounts to a genocide, something that can not be negated by any level of Zionist propaganda that attempts to state otherwise.

I believe a callous attitude towards the mass murder of innocent people to be disgusting. Picking and choosing this based on what specific group of people suffer because of this is pure and utter hypocrisy. Obliterating and incinerating innocent people in refugee camps by dropping bombs on them is no different than murdering and slaughtering innocent people in villages though a ground assault on them.

Regarding the claims highlighting the general public caring more about the deaths of one group of people over others has nothing to do with "meh" or not because they do not belong to a specific group -- most groups simply don't have access to megaphone that can be broadcast across the world over and over and over.

Given you've mentioned the Jewish community specifically, their access to a megaphone educating the plight of their community is quite good, moreso than most other groups across the world, in fact. Is it perfect? Far from it! And, of course they've suffered immensely, I would never deny that.

The issue at large regarding the perception of people caring about one group over others is certainly not one that stems from the common individual; its a long standing issue that stems from those with the power to decide which specific news and education is worthy over others and, again, is something that has occurred since time immemorial.

10 million Congolese murdered by Belgium and their barbaric king in the late 19th century? Genocide. Does the general public know about this genocide? Nope. Does the general public know about the Holocaust? Well, that's both a yes and a no. Within the Holocaust, for example, the general public does know about the millions of Jews that were murdered, but do they know about the other genocides that were commited by Nazis, including against the Romani, where 25-50% of their total population in Europe was murdered? Nope.

I also don't like antisemitism at all -- and there are plenty of other semitic groups that fall under that banner. It is interesting, however, that the term in popular culture only appears to be applied to one singular semitic group.

After seeing various attempts to equate what occured on October 7th with what occured in Nazi Germany, it seems fairly obvious that it's simply just gaslighting to the highest order. Anyone with an iota of knowledge of history would know this; it's a comparison fit for an ignoramus, which, for the record, I do not believe you are.

Taking that into account, quite frankly, this discussion has quickly descended into going around in circles, which, ironically is a pretty good analogy for the conflict at large. Nevertheless, repeating the same lie over and over again is akin to convincing the majority of a large audience that two plus two equals five, as that's essentially what plays out between governments/media/corporations and the general public on this issue.

That last scenario has absolutely nothing to do with the ongoing situation there, given the background conditions between our two nations is entirely different. It's a non-sequitor and thus does not deserve a detailed response. As already mentioned, this discussion is not going to go anywhere so this is where I will take my leave.

I guess I should back up a bit, and ask: how you would have handled it differently after Oct 7th if you were the Israeli government?

Secondly, how do you define genocide?

China said they would respond to the US tariffs and fight to the end, whether it was economic war, tariffs or actual war.

I'm more worried about the U.S. and Israel going to war with Iran there's rumblings according to Chuck Holton if you follow him on YouTube.

Alright, I admit I was wrong. While I've never liked him, Trump is a lot worse than I had initially thought. We need to set aside social politics and focus this upcoming election on protecting Canada. Doug Ford continues his threat to shut off power to 1.5 million people down south. Crazy times. :silent:

I, for one, am glad to see that Canadians are waking up and starting to acknowledge the threat.

If it makes you feel any better, that's somewhat like how I feel about Trump and Doug Ford. :)

Not Typer, but personally, as to the first question, I think that Israel had approximately the same right to deal with the violation of its territorial sovereignty that happened on Oct 7th that Ukraine had to deal with Russia when Russia invaded.

Namely, Israel had the right to expel the invaders (or take prisoners of war) and secure its internationally-recognized borders by any means necessary. And I had exactly zero problem with Israel doing that.

And that’s about it. Any other occupation of Palestinian territory might be justified as a bargaining chip to get back occupied Israeli territory, except unlike with Ukraine, there was no occupied Israeli territory; Israel expelled the invaders with ease. As one would expect, given their status as the most effective military in the region.

Don't the tariffs grow dumber as the days go by?
Friend turned foe has opened our eyes
One minute you're waiting for the sky to fall
Next you're dazzled by the stupidity of it all

Tariffs in a dangerous time
Tariffs in a dangerous time

We'll never become the 51st state
We'll never give in to orange face
Breaking agreements is a big disgrace,
Up your nose, with a rubber hose

Tariffs in a dangerous time
Tariffs in a dangerous time

We are living in a dangerous time
Sometimes you're made to feel a trade surplus with your partner's a crime
Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight
You gotta kick at the Trumpness till it bleeds daylight
