Still looks pretty severe for the Fraser Valley, Lower Whatcom County and the North Cascades.

Nothing too crazy for the usual suspects (I.e. North Coquitlam). Probably will see totals in the 60-75mm range here which is pretty typical for a midwinter rain storm.

The polar vortex isn’t just wobbling — it’s actively deforming, and the live data tonight confirms it.
This is the Dec 7 real-time 10 hPa frame, and the next two model runs (Dec 9 and Dec 12) show the distortion getting progressively worse. You can literally watch the vortex stretch, tilt, and get peeled open by a massive ridge intrusion.

If this projection holds, North America is staring straight at a severe Arctic displacement — the kind that forces the jet to snap south and locks cold into place for weeks, not days.
Energy markets are not priced for this kind of structural setup.
