7 1st team all star selections (basically the same as the Vezina), the most in NHL history for goalies.
4 2nd team all star selections (2nd best goalie in the league).
502 consecutive games, by the far the most in NHL history among goalies.
The inventor of the butterfly style.
Rookie of the year winner.
Conn Smythe trophy winner as playoff MVP in the losing cause, as a 36 year old!

Played in 13 all star games!

Simply sensational. One of the greatest of all time! Maybe even the greatest goalie of all time.

Greatest goalie of all time is definitely a fascinating topic. So many different guys you could make an argument for. Hasek to me had the greatest peak but it lasted 5-6 seasons when some of these guys like Hall went on forever. Roy is top 3 obviously. Brodeur, maybe but his team and era played in his favour. Hall could be it.

502 games in a row is just :wtf:

502 games without a mask!

BTW, 2nd most games in a row is Georges Vezina with 328 games in a row (his entire career since NHL was under 30 games long until his final full season).

This is Ovechkin's 21st 20 goal season and Crosby's 18th. Amazing to have two generational talents with such overlapping careers!

Prime Jonathan Quick was something else as well. Those playoffs from 2012 to 2014 are something no goalie has touched. Playoff Quick for a reason.

Hasek pretty much singlehandedly won Czech Republic their Olympic gold in 1998. Even an offensive juggernaut like Canada couldn't beat him. Incredible.

Don’t forget Jags.
But yeah, He was as close to unbeatable as it gets. Buffalo was basically Hasek and a bunch of plugs. I wish he’d won the cup in 99’, they got robbed.

If we got luck enough to get 1st and grab him, I would absolutely support him spending more time in the NCAA for a variety of reasons. Stenberg is probably more NHL ready but has a lower offensive ceiling. I could see him cracking the Nuckles next season. But its a big if, even if we can maintain last place, they still have only a 46% chance of picking top 2.
