At least you’re no longer getting skunked in the freeze department. I’m wondering how AbbyJr did last night. YXX has gone from some of the warmest mins in the Lower Mainland to now some of the coldest.

If you extrapolate the 12Z GFS way into :14clown: time, there are signs of retrogression. Maybe Mid Feb?

Euro weeklies hinted at this time period....

I dunno..

ECMWF says no way and keeps this strong Nino pattern through early Feb.

If we want to grasp at straws is that a +PNA lasting more than 10 weeks on end through most of winter is unlikely and should turn by March/April.

wetcoast91 wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 5:43 am It's bad at Grouse and Cypress. There's no way to make snow with these temps. Many runs are probably closing at the end of the week

We could see the Grouse Grind even open by mid Feb if we score another AR.
Had a glance at Grouse this morning while driving on the freeway... the Cut looks like we are in the middle of April right now... lots of bare ground.
