It probably would be global cooling, but I think Port Kells already addressed this that neither is the greatest. Being "middle of the road" in terms of climate is the real ideal. A global cooling scenario would still result in famine and crop failure.

Fun fact. The bicycle was invented due to a global cooling event from the explosion of Mount Tambora which lead to the year without a summer in 1816. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1815_erup ... nt_Tambora The bicycle was an alternative to the horse and the inventor's interest was the starvation and death of horses caused by crop failure in 1816, the Year Without a Summer (following the volcanic eruption of Tambora in 1815).
