Interesting article detailing the great winter of '69 in the Lower Mainland. The author is from Aldergrove.

In one respect the winter of 1968/69 was colder than 1950. The extreme low temperatures across the Lower Mainland were actually below those of 1950, and likely lower than any other winter since 1892/93.

It's interesting how uniform the temperatures were in 1950. Almost the same in Hope as Steveston.

I think extreme lows across the lower mainland during the January 1909 arctic blast stack up pretty much on par with those during '68-69.

Highs were even colder during the 1909 event (Agassiz recorded a high of -20.6c on Jan 8th, 1909).
