After picking up Toffoli I don't think there's any way JB goes after Simmonds, he's done nothing this year anyways, to be worth anything in the playoffs you still have to produce. Also JB better not be giving up more assets, only elite teams do that and they're not close yet. They'll make a believer out of me if they make a deep playoff run.

Canucks drop bombshell with Markstrom injury but hopefully it doesn't explode and Marky comes back sooner than later. Pressure now rests on Demko's shoulders as he fills in for arguably the league's best goalie. I believe division rivals golden knights and oilers did well today to bolster their rosters going into the final stretch. Canucks made their big splash last week with the Toffoli acquisition. Needless to say the last 20 games will be very interesting. Sure hope they make the playoffs,there's no business like playoff business. And maybe make some noise as next year's team could be quite different if they let Markstrom, Tanev, Toffoli and Stetcher walk away. Unfortunately some bad signings have lead to this cap crunch. And Virtanen will also be getting a raise which complicates things. Maybe before this June's draft Benning can unload some players/contracts like Sutter,Beagle etc and recoup some draft picks as this is supposed to be a deep draft. But killing 2 birds with one stone will be a difficult task let alone killing 1 bird with 2 stones if Benning can't find a dance partner.

As fate would have it Bure gets injured knee ligament and is out for the year they never played together again Bure was traded the following summer.
