Just happy about the dry trend next week.
How strong do you think the outflow winds will be on Saturday out in the valley?

A low pressure system will pass just off Vancouver Island Friday morning and move onto the Washington coast Friday evening. Meanwhile, Arctic air will advance southward through the B.C. interior. The onset of precipitation combined with falling temperatures will bring a risk of wet snow to neighbourhoods and roadways above 300 m.

The system will move out of the region Friday evening but a cold airmass settling in behind will ensure temperatures remain 5 to 8 degrees below seasonal normals.
Hey Slyty, you need to bang on your neighbor Sardineman's door at 3 am and wake him up, and tell him to cut his spawning season short and get his tail and fin over here. If not, next time I see him I'll put him in a headlock and give him a noogie or two.

Honestly I just see rain and fog. Always foggy while raining where I am. Hard to tell it the rain is chunky or not. It’s chilly though!
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..

Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Welp, if there’s not even so much as chunky rain atop Burnaby Mountain, I think that scotches any chance I will see flakes today.

5°C and rainy here this morning, after an overnight low of 3. As I expected, the temperature actually rose a bit after the clouds rolled in.

Update: Just checked the SFU webcams and the rain definitely is chunky. Still wouldn’t think my chances are very good. Might have had some cautious optimism if the lawns and bark dust were getting whitened up there.

I looked at the webcams I don't see any snow there.. It's all green. I think it's too low. Perhaps some flakes but nothing sticking it's just not high enough.

Was snowing up there at 7:10am.

All rain below 600m now though. Just never got the cold rush of air ahead as the low was too weak.

Now that I can see better with the light of day I can confirm that within the thick fog is chunky rain mixed with sloppy second snowflakes. I definitely won’t be making any snowmen today.
