Honest question here....why is it that the arctic air always heads east? What stops it from coming to our area? It is always 10 days away and then everyone gets excited including me and then next model runs cancel winter. Now I understand why everyone says model riding is a roller coaster ride
The Rocky Mountain and Coastal Mountains are quite effective at blocking cold air from entering the area. Even Prince George is much milder than Fort St. John for example or Revelstoke vs Calgary.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!
Looks super wet in western Washington with the rain band stalled. I wonder if any of that will reach us later this afternoon or evening. Rain has stopped for now.

This is along with a NORMAL precip probability. Looking good for snow fans when the CPC is on board. I like their model blend they ignore outliers and poor performers and give weight to the better runs. So they'll ignore the 18z I'm sure.

Pretty crazy. It rained for a good 36 hours straight here... roughly 84 mm so far. Biggest rain event since last January, and no warning issued.

I might be going crazy but I can’t shake this feeling that we are going to see something pop up in the nearer term on the models. catnip?

Well with a lot of people on here giving up on winter, our chances of a #surprise or two have increased.
