I honestly don't remember the last time the models struggled this bad in the short term. Like to go from mild to arctic back to mild within a short range forecast timeframe, is perplexing.

There is good and bad news though. Allow me to explain.

Good news:
Winter is not cancelled because the next run could easily show the polar vortex dropping into the PNW, stalling for 2 weeks.

Bad news:
Winter could easily be cancelled with the following run as it sends the polar vortex east of the rockies.
