Trough digging further to the W on the past couple runs of the NAM by late Tuesday/early Wednesday. Allows more cold air to settle into the interior.

Yep. Not too far out of line with some of the other models at this point. Also nice that the air ahead of the arctic front is already pretty cold.

ICON looks a little slower with the arctic air compared to the 0z but looks like some of the other models with more moisture along the arctic boundary

YWL-BLI gradient at -24mb early Wednesday AM on the 6z GFS. Would see some very strong winds in the valley. Possibly gusts 90km/hr+.

Similar gradient early Thursday AM.

850s drop to -16c at YVR and -18c at YXX Thursday morning per the 06z. Now just a touch warmer than the euro. GEM and ICON are still way colder though.
