I was going to grade this winter only a C- despite this week.

Hmm. Yeah ill upgrade it to a C here because Saturday ended up decent here. Still a disappointment to be sure.

I would give it a C or C+ based on life experiences. I have no clue how this winter would grade based on Local averages. It seems it’s below so I guess it’s a C- or D.

I mean, if we grade winters with the typical criteria that average is C, then this performance of barely 1/3 of average snow at YVR would certainly land in the F category.

The funny part about it is our climate in the winter is COOL. it’s always only a few (or so) degrees from snow. Sometimes big snow. We just have very little variation from the average and almost no variation between daytime high and overnight low. It’s just BLAH. one day I’d love to move to the Okanagan or somewhere in the interior but I’d likely be otherwise bored. I need easy access to a city. Also pornoman would have issues with certain small town mindedness “values”, so it’s a non starter. And, ya know, work. Though COVID really has proven remote work is allllllmost as good as in person in my field. Anyway I guess I’m doomed for a life of boring weather. Hence why it’s good to have the odd wicked storm or unusual event to keep things interesting.

You’d be surprised how boring the Okanagan winters are. Dreary but with less rain and more snow so yeah better...but still. I’m very curious what a Ymir Or Wells winter looks like. Decent elevation, small town in snow belt type areas.

My conclusion is that weather is unpredictable and not an exact science and it's going to remain that way for quite a while.

I don't know, while that is somewhat true, it's only here in Western Canada that we have this problem, and it extends into the Western USA as well. There is something else going on. I recall better forecasts in the 1980's, and how is that possible with the betterment of technology? OH! It's like road building. Roads built in the 1960's are superior to any road built today. In fact many new roads are so pathetic it looks like drunk people made them. For example, 16oth St. between 24th and 32nd Aves. What a cluster muck! The curbs are crooked, the road too narrow, the lanes are not straight, they weave around stuff.. it's pathetic.

Indeed! It always sits on the borderline like it's teasing us. It's disgusting. The cold has really disappeared though. I used to have to walk to school all the time when I was young, and every winter, even if there was no snow, it was cold enough to freeze ponds etc up to 5 inches thick. We had one next to our school that all of us students would go walking and slipping on. NEVER see that any more.

As for the interior, stay out of the Kelowna area. That place is a cesspool of idiots. Go further north, Vernon, Armstrong, Salmon Arm etc..
