Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Yeah, NFLD climate is super harsh... that's kinda why I chose NS specifically. I feel it's more of a happy medium.Hound wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 11:13 pm My aunt just moved back to Abbotsford after living 10 years in Newfoundland on the east shores. She said it was great. Weather was all kinds of crazy especially in winter with drifting snow. Icebergs were wonderful to look at floating by, summers not too hot, similar to here. Wind storms were crazy.
However, quality of life was lower. She said it was hard to find a job, small town attitudes, high prices for fresh foods. She said produce was the worst. So some things were not that great. Her car only lasted 10 years due to the harsh environment as well.
So you win some, you lose some.![]()

some parts can be but generally no; in Vancouver proper the base of Oak St is usually closed in snowy weather, I suspect there are other localized closures as well.
ETA, no flakes here

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
It depends if you’re talking about the city itself or the greater Vancouver region in general. Some areas are very hilly. SFU and Burnaby Mtn go up well over 1000ft. And some populated areas along the north shore mountains are over 1500ft.
