Kind of a rarity in these parts, thankfully don't see too many during spring and summer.
Oh man I was too miserable to even post about it yesterday. Was at Central Park pitch and putt. Put up with non-stop sneezing, congestion, left eyelid swelled up a bit too because it reacted to something getting underneath. Wore a mask which helped lower the sneeze count but did nothing for the eye. Also noticed a lot of early mosquitoes like you. It's like the world is conspiring to make even the first halfway decent day feel awful.

I used to have really bad seasonal allergies too. Then I started using Flonase, which can be bought over the counter at most pharmacies. Flonase with a daily dose of Reactine keeps my symptoms mostly in check.

The alder pollen is getting me as well. After a bike ride in the rain this morning my eyes were really bothering me. I took some over the counter medication earlier and went out again in the afternoon for mountain biking and no problems this evening.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Red alder flowers. The male ones dominate this image. If you are currently suffering from hay fever, these are what to blame! The female ones are much smaller things in the upper right.
