35.6C here with that one. Which is the June record.

Man, if it got that hot in New West during that time I could only imagine what the temps were like in the central/eastern valley. Probably even hotter. I don't think Abbotsford has records prior to the mid 1940's.

I noticed this morning that Kuss backed off of a high of 35 for Saturday down to 32. not much of a difference but looks like he agrees it will moderate a bit

Agassiz was 36.7 that same day. Could be a lot of factors but New West station might have been over exposed.

Sounds like the GFS has moderated slightly. I really do believe that could be the difference between life or death for some. There are residences out there that are absolutely not prepared for 43C and furthermore our bodies are not accustomed.

Hmm, southerly surge after the weekend on the 12Z GFS. Could be a recipe for some decent storms.

Yeah I'm worried about next week. My wife teaches in a portable without AC. No fans allowed. Temps exceed the outside by 5C or so.

Hopefully they will make an exception and allow fans.

I'm also concerned about the power grid. Do you think it can handle such extreme heat?

I bet it probably can but I don't know much about it. Do you mean the demand surge or the over heating or both? Yeah actually I have no idea.
