I see the ensemble mean peak 850T is now up to 28.5C on the spaghetti plot. The operational continues to run on the warmer side but the mean has been dragged up slowly.

Nice. Maybe we extend it into Thursday? And slowly into Friday? And just keep it going until say, I dunno, Mid July? And before you know it, its September and we haven't had a sub 28 high. Next thing you know, we'll be tracking a historic arctic blast that turns out to last 1.5 days and reach a max low of -5.
Gotta love it!

How's Canada Day looking? Supposed to play music for our backyard barbecue if I haven't barbecued myself by then.

Wasn't the GFS forecasting 40-43c for Sunday just yesterday and the day before? Looks like 38c-39c in the valley and eastern metro van now.

Obviously not a huge difference but it could be a trend.

No not really. It was always just a bit below 40 Sunday and Monday the hottest day a bit above 40. Nothing has changed. If anything, the ensemble means have changed by moving toward the op.

Last 3 runs of the 12/00Z GFS for Sunday. I tend to ignore the 18Z and 06Z, except for entertainment purposes.

I think the range is almost set, now its a matter of which locales reach that magic 40 number. Not that 39 is really much different.

After seeing Bonovox's maps it looks like you're right. Seems like Saturday has definitely trended cooler by a few notches though.

I bet we see Sunday and Monday cool by a few notches with tomorrow's model runs. Really just can't fathom 100f+ temps happening here.

As I've been saying, I'm still skeptical inland locales exceed 100f, never mind 40c. But we'll see.
