Looks like the 18z has cooled by a smidgen on Sat/Sun but is back to showing those ridiculously unrealistic temps for Monday.

High res (4km) 12z WRF-GFS high temps on Saturday:

Sunday:
wa_tsfc.84.0000.gif
Looks like they added more colours to the legend as predicted temps have exceeded their old scale.

Higher resolution maps still aren't available for Monday, but this is what the lower resolution map shows:

I love how they introduced a new colour scheme today because basically half of the map was white/hot pink.

00z runs will lower those Monday temps. 42-44c in the valley is not going to happen.

The difference between 40 and 43, in terms of how hot it feels, is probably marginal at best. Either way, I'm going to be freezing wet face cloths en masse.

You might be right, but I really think the Valley is going to break 40 on either Sunday or Monday. Most likely Monday. Mesoscale models haven't really toned down the heat. The RGEM has Sunday at 39c for YXX.

Further to this point, the 2.5km HRDPS already has YXX at 34c by 11AM on Saturday. Not a stretch to imagine they will easily breach 40c.
