You might be right, but I really think the Valley is going to break 40 on either Sunday or Monday. Most likely Monday. Mesoscale models haven't really toned down the heat. The RGEM has Sunday at 39c for YXX.
Yup I think 40C is a real possibility for the Valley. Its hard to believe but models have been consistently suggesting these extreme temperatures.
If it were just one model showing it then we could put it aside as an outlier, but the majority of models are in agreement.

It’s like in Winter... models warm things up as we get closer to the event.

Nice to have this place bumping even though it seems the vast majority are not in favour.

Sheepish and sleepish.
If that's how it works I'm going to be a penguin!
Now I'll be cool for this coming insanity.
Just steer clear of the vanilla ice cream.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I think this'll be one for the record books...
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

I'll be in Hope and Yale tomorrow... anyone care to take a stab? I was thinking 34C in Hope and 36C in Yale. I don't know how much of a difference there typically is between the two places.

What an extraordinary heatwave coming. Not my cup of tea.
This is all I picture:
I've warned my family on the coast. Some live in apartments with no AC!

I am so glad I moved. My last place was on the 26th floor facing south and east. We baked at 6 am until 3 pm and then got hit with suns reflection from the high rise across the street from 6 to 8. A cold sunny day would render us hot. This coming heatwave would be deadly.
Now we face north so I say (somewhat selfishly) bring on the all time highs. I love record smashing.
Once again wishing wundermaps had more stations in Burnaby, which seem to be lacking compared to neighboring towns.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m. .
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.
