Winning the battle today so far, just 19 C inside the house. I'm actually under a blanket because sitting directly in the AC is pretty cold but entirely necessary.

Sad to hear that my prediction of many casualties is coming true. It really is far worse than a cold wave, where most places have some form of heating. I know its cool and exciting for some to see this kind of weather but please keep in mind that this is a real time tragedy. This will change Vancouver's building codes and mentality forever. Thank goodness we have AC in my trailer, otherwise would've had to relocate all the cats and find somewhere else.

Doesn't look like YVR will challenge the record today with the way things are going there. NW winds seem a touch stronger compared with yesterday.

Look at that temperature difference along the WA coast. From Central Park to Ocean Shores 33 km from 40c to 18c!

Bby_Mtn wrote: Mon Jun 28, 2021 12:12 pm We reached 39.6 yesterday Sunday at Burnaby Mountain. Our power went off from 5 pm to midnight, so my wunderground page has an incomplete picture for yesterday. This compares to a 37.1 high on Saturday. At noon today Monday, it's 35.9, tracking more than 2 degrees hotter than same time yesterday. The weather story is absolutely unbelievable.

The human story is absolutely tragic. I work as a paramedic in the Vancouver area and the suffering out there is unimaginable. Extreme levels of hyperthermia, respiratory and cardiac calls; many deaths. The temperature inside many residences is mind-blowing. Please check on your neighbors, friends, family, and especially the weak and elderly. Get them out of the heat.
Hi bby mtn

Curious if your page shows up on the WU map. I’ve never seen anything ever show up on the mountain itself. Occasionally I see one down toward Halifax but not regularly. Would love a point of reference at the top of the hill. Especially come winter time.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..

Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Temp 32ËšC, DP 23, HX 37.

Now running about 1 degree C above yesterday, which still won’t be enough to get above 38˚C/100˚F assuming generally the same temperature curve holds.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Temp already falling in Eugene/Corvallis area. If Salem follows then that's good news for the Portland area. They are absolutely baking.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays
