A pine tree partially split open near me. Totally didn't expect it but with the temps we've seen it makes sense.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

The flipside of how you guys hang on to the cold air and lose it last during arctic outflow events.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
9 am 24.7 outside and 27.7 inside so the answer is coconut icecream for breakfast.
I tried to make it in the icecream maker last night but the can of coconut was so warm it was totally liquid and just heated the frozen maker up. I should have chilled the coconut mix first. It's so weird to touch things, door handles, metal tools and they're warm. It's been 'fun' and I'm ready to move on to more seasonal temps, like NOW!
Sechelt has broken records for the last three days...nice thing about a relatively new station it's pretty easy to set new official records.

32°C on the top of (American) Sumas Mountain, 33°C on Lyman Hill, 20°C at KBLI. Quite the marine inversion this morning.
The sky doesn’t match the air, either. It feels cool and fresh, but the sky, particularly to the NE, has that hot look to it.

To be fair, though, 40C would have done the job however old the station wasRoberts Creeker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 9:19 am 9 am 24.7 outside and 27.7 inside so the answer is coconut icecream for breakfast.![]()

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Burnaby RCMP tweeted this morning that they’ve responded to 25 sudden death calls in the past 24 HOURS! Many of them were seniors and likely heat related deaths. Im glad my grandparents had AC cause it seems like a lot of vulnerable people did not
. Just wait til other jurisdictions start releasing numbers as well..

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Oh man. That is just horrible. Unfortunately, I think we now live in a climate where A/C is a must. Especially for the vulnerable. Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Yep. And that's just the bodies that have been discovered. Others are sitting there decaying because nobody lives with them. What a horrific event. I'm guessing the numbers will be well in the 100's.LadnerWeather wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:45 am Burnaby RCMP tweeted this morning that they’ve responded to 25 sudden death calls in the past 24 HOURS!
