A lot of rain tonight, but 1000s of lightning strikes. Hopefully the rain and strikes overlap.

Ya sounds like chaos in the area as people flee the nearby subdivisions..just what we need after Lytton literally burnt to the ground last night :(

Hey... Out of curiosity (not sure if anyone here has done this yet)...

Wondering which weather stations across the world recorded a higher daily high temperature than Lytton did last Tuesday. Just curious if anyone's checked that? I'm assuming that might be difficult seeing as there could be varying standards and thousands of weather stations

My sister and family live in Kamloops. She is not in the affected communities but can see the flames from her balcony.
My brother in law is RCMP and got called into work. It's a living nightmare there.

Good question Arbe looks like Lytton took the prize for hottest in world on June 29th 2021, the hottest for June was a city in Kuwait on June 9th 53c but l'm on my cell so someone may want to research a little more.

Well I was wondering the same thing. Being so close to 50C makes me wonder if that little town in Canada was in fact was the hottest place on the planet on June 29th lol

Why is there still a heat warning for Abbotsford and Chilliwack? Seems a little unnecessary now...

Another good question Arbes El Nito said the other day it's something to do with alot people don't have AC so households take afew day's to cool. Seems mote like a heat warning for people's residence's.
It is odd as it's been most comfortable outside for a couple of day's now.
A tad muggy but l'm not sweating like a pig.

Seems like the situation in Kamloops is under control for now. However as long as conditions remain dry and hot with thunderstorms popping up, anything can happen. I am just hoping for the best as I'm sure we all are.

I am absolutely PISSED at the fact that some tool is lighting off firecrackers right now at a school near me. Why are people such morons?

l think to due to saltry overnight low's EC appear kinda nervous to take it down, same idea in winter when we get a rare snow event and they keep the snow warning up. :o when there's afew flakes falling.

Well here it is Cst. Goose, Hounderdog as promised l drove by the volunteer Chilliwack weather station and snapped a photo.
Luckily no neighbours called the cops on me. :cops: it's next to Chehalis park in south Sardis.
excellent location all grass around the Stevenson screen. Maybe it can be moved to the weather station photos thread.
