Re: October 2021 Forecasts and Discussion
I kept going outside and checking because I knew there was a chance. Then I got tired and headed off to bed, but decided to check one last time. And the show was on! Went in to text friends and grab a camera, and it faded a lot in those few minutes. So I didn’t get a photo.
Been decades since the last time I saw an aurora. Hope it won’t be decades until the next time. We are headed into an active phase of the 11-year solar cycle so there should be more chances in the coming years.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I was supposed to fly to Comox this afternoon but the flight was canceled. On the bright side it's snowing at Cypress!

Earliest first snow since 2019? There were a couple notable cold troughs in late September and early October that year.

October 8, 2019 there was snow at the top of Cypress. Today it is at the bottom, even more impressive. Picture from 2019.
