Was up on a few hills doing core samples. Surprised by how many trees have seen damage from the looper larvae. The heatwave actually damaged root systems on the forest floor which has loosened rock and soil...An AR event with sustained rain is not ideal.

Models keep flip flopping on the exact trajectory of this upcoming Atmospheric River event. Major shifts in rain totals for some regions run to run. This is likely why Environment Canada maintains uncertainty for some areas. It will be interesting to see how widely the rain totals vary from region to region. Regardless, looks like it will be a very wet few days for all regions.

Perhaps this may result in our next windstorm doing more damage than usual.

Fort Nelson was the HOTTEST place in BC yesterday. Still colder than some of the LOWS in Ontario, but still hotter than anyone else in BC...

This feels like 2016. Early fall, non stop rain train.

The way the Knuckles are playing yes it does  seriously active is a good sign, and another good sign is El Nito's awfully quiet :shifty: 🤫 which means he's probably worried his pineapples may get snowed under.
