Re: October 2021 Forecasts and Discussion
Satellite, 500 mb, surface and radar at 15z. It was at this point with the last deep upper low that it turned sharply northward. I noticed on the animation that the current one is just starting to divert towards the north. We shall see if this continues or not. Notice the radar echoes in California showing the heavy precip down there!

Re: October 2021 Forecasts and Discussion
Whoa it actually dropped way down there. This is legit Good job models
On a side note...due to cool SST's of the coast, is this driving the AR into Cali? It appears to be that way. With Blobby, we had that AR slamming into the PNW last few years, even during LaNina years, with hardly any snow. So is Blobby the more dominant feature? I think so. Blobby has retrograded lol SW, into the central pacific now. Yesssss. It would be nice to see the storm track stay mostly south while the SST's stay chilly. I'll take my chances with that this year

MAYDAY MAYDAY! We need some warm sunny weather this month. Some showers mixed in would be good too

Nito..what are your thoughts about this Low? And then the excessive early summer heat? And also, wouldn't the cool SST's indicate more Troffing for us instead of Ridging? Add in LN and id say it cant be any worse than the last 2 winters here. Lets hope the cool SST's stick around all winter and we can do a port mortem in March

Likely short lived given this persistent pattern. But I could go for some of that.stuffradio wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 12:06 pm Ridging in November?

Re: October 2021 Forecasts and Discussion
Lightning and LOUUD thunder right over my house. A little daunting, when I was up a ladder cleaning an obstruction from a downspout...

The wind just died here, as well as the rain. It's motionless. Even the sky has blue showing through.

I’m not surprised by that! Should be a break for a bit now
