Strange that I am having southwest breezy winds right now with the low still out over the ocean

The NE breeze was refreshing today John. that was our contribution from mega storm (over hype)

Have to say it’s been a fair bit windier than I expected. That said when I went down to Kensington it was merely a breeze. Came back up the mountain and it was a solid stiff wind. Wonder if elevation and or proximity to Burrard inlet is making a difference in my case.
That said it is often breezy up here when calm elsewhere.

Anthead how does Cranbrook do with regards to outflow winds? I remember driving through that valley thinking the winds must absolutely howl down through there, but it's more of a N to S valley isn't it.?

Seen some intense thunderstorms off the coast today. There was one cell SW of Astoria that was a borderline supercell (with circulation within).
