Quite gusty out now. Looks like that sneaky little low did actually form, from satellite imagery. I think some models were picking up a 1000-1005 mb low a couple nights ago.

Makes it really difficult to illustrate all the microclimates in the region since there's literally no data for most cities at this point.
With climate change being thrust in the forefront as one of the worlds most pressing issues, I am left wondering why data collection stations are disappearing or being left in the dark ages. Wouldn’t better technology and a wider network of stations be a benefit for statistical evidence?

I remember there was a small tornado in the late 80's or 90's that touched down on the roof of the KMart in Coquitlam, big enough to tear a hole in it and close the store for a while until repaired.

Watch the youtube video. Going to guess EF0 Tornado based on the tree branches being stripped and trees being torn down.

Cold air aloft and warm waters likely contributed to the develop of a mesocyclone, and a watersprout that had an expansive cone. It looked to be potentially an EF2 or EF3 based on the width. Fortunately it weakened as it moved onshore to an EF0.

Fortunately this supercell skirted over largely uninhabited land. Landfall as an EF2 in Steveston-Richmond could have proved disastrous.

Looks like it's over for now as the airmass aloft is stabilizing.
