It's been cold enough aloft to support snow down to 100m with heavier showers the past day. It's just that there's barely been shower activity making it east of Vancouver.

The Mrs and I just got back from a weekend at Whistler. Started raining about 4:00PM yesterday and then it turned to snow. It snowed about 10cm there last night. Here's the view from our accommodations this morning and a couple pics as we went for small walk before we left this morning.

I'm just guessing, but could be the tornado wasn't visible from the weather office location on the ground. Even so, you'd think one of the controllers would call down and inform them. Seems like there's blame to go around.
