The Euro is going crazy with

Because there’s a ridiculous amount of vertical relief in or near this region. Vancouver is much closer to the mountains than either Seattle or Portland are. It is one of the things I would always notice on visits in the years I lived in either of the other two places.

It's much much worse with the GFS/ECMWF this year. To the point where it's bleeding right into the Coast while temps are in the mid 40's.
