Yes, going off memory seems about right, l remember huge flakes coming down, huge build ups to the east, then heard thunder and seeing sunshine all at the same time.

That pre Christmas blast of Dec/83 l was living not far from you over on Begin street l recall one morning it got down to -14c going off memory.

So tonight could be very well the second coldest temperature l've experienced in my life! I was 9 for the record and 62 for the second coldest reading what a stretch in between.
But then again experienced the hottest ever recorded wow whst a year man.

Yep, Dec '83 was memorable for cold. Pretty notable arctic blast. That was the year with the snowfail warning on christmas though. Walking/skating on the local lakes at the time made up for it a bit at least.

You didn't experience lower in January 1982? That was a significant arctic blast too. Temps down to -19c at YXX.

Yes the Christmas eve snowfall bust, l remember going back home from the out laws in Richmond to Coquitlam Begin st. all we got was a bit of wet snow and grapuel, depressing indeed.

No l was in Port Moody then, was probably the temperature l'm at now so who knows maybe ithis is the 3rd coldest then. :lol:
I'm trying to recall winters around -15c where I'm at now and the various areas l lived in at the time.

Temps got down to near -15c at YVR in early Jan 1993 after the big snowstorm.

Also almost -15c in late Nov '85 as well. That arctic blast was a beast.
