Terence Corcoran had a critical yet respectful & thoughtful piece in the NP I agreed with: “From Innocence to anxious activists –what are we doing to our kids?” I’ll be polite and stop there.

Give me a break with that... I've had enough of climate change, politics, etc.

I had thought we had already agreed to this and then of course people bring it up again. Personally, I wish we lived in a society where we could disagree without people getting offended and turning against each other, but we don't so its better to not bring up controversial issues when we have such a nice friendship on here.

   Other than a few anomalies (1 each for the other 3 months..wow itself), it is possible to actually have a cold January? And last "cold" Jan was wayyyyyyyy back in 1993? 26 years ago..hmmmm we are overdue for a cold Jan..way overdue butties.

And i love the look of that "Arctic" High on the pervious map...nice!
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Hell, I'd be happy if YVR can even get snow this January. The last Jan to record more than 1cm of snow was back in 2012.

Same with recording at least one -10C temp. Even per the warm 1981-2010 averages, YVR averages one day below -10C in Jan...this hasn't happened since 2004.

Mostly "meh" or average winters.

'46-47 was decent though - an average of 0.5C in Jan 1947 including an extreme low of -15C with 36cm of snow at YVR.

We all remember 2007-08...was a decent winter as well with significant snowfalls in December and January.
