the 06z GFS is a thing of beauty. Catnip posted a screenshot from Michael Ventrice lamenting the pattern shift. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and declare victory. Just a couple days ago those amplified ridges were right over us. Interesting how the GFS has handled this pattern shift: mid-week the GFS showed nominal amplification in the long-range, then late this week the solutions were wicked amplification with the ridge of death over then and an Omega Block setting up, then yesterday it was continued blocking while shifting the ridges into the GoA.
