Welp.. jack squat on radar. Of course, we miss out on any storms once again. Honestly, how pathetic is this place for any exciting weather. All we get is rain or heat.

I do stand by my pile of steaming garbage comment in regards to the demise of our local climate.

As far as the socioeconomic status of Vancouver, I don’t think this is the thread or forum for that.

I hear you, and I kinda see the local climate front because it's JUST SO BORING and somehow it's been too warm in the summer AND the winter. That said, a forum of weather nerds may not be the best place to poll how good our climate is because I think most people out there would say the relative mildness of Vancouver sure still beats a lot of the country.

Moving isn’t really a realistic option because of ties to my job and extended family. If that was not the case, then yeah, I could. Also, complaints about the weather and the demise of our climate does not or should not equate to an automatic suggestion to move. In my opinion.

I'm glad saner heads prevailed and you won't be telling your family that you'll be moving With or Without You.

That's a long way to come. We need the low to get close enough as it moves north tomorrow and in the right spot for the instability because the moist southerly flow is there, we just need the instability. It was 2012 or 2013 when we had those severe thunderstorms coming up from south of the border. There must have been alot of divergence aloft in the right places because it was popping up like crazy just South of the border and the storms were maintaining their strength heading North.

Absolutely amazing that Cmen came of the closet not once but twice today nice reads. l'm always amazed Cmen you take many weeks to post your indepth analysis good job.

If those numbers are accurate then I suggest moving closer to the airport or out my way.

YVR was sitting at 35 with humidity multiple times last heatwave so wouldn't of made a difference.

This is true, My dad has said tho multiple times in the last 10 years that summer's here now are way different and the heat has ramped up.

That really sucks. I totally understand why you'd hate the warmer temps if that's the case every time we get heat spikes in the summer.

I think this is the case for a lot of people. They don't mind summer temps but the problem here is there is no cooling in most homes, so there is no relief and no way to regenerate and feel better, thus people get cranky and generally tired. Some people can't take the heat for medical or health reasons. I was at my friends condo in Coquitlam, and the building is 2 years old roughly. The temp inside the condo has spiked to 28 to 35 inside all day and all night. It's dreadful! No escape, and impossible to sleep. Even with a fan blowing in cool air from the balcony. Not only are these condos complete CRAP quality in every way. They trap the heat like an oven. It really should be MANDATORY EVERY new home/condo whatever be built with an AC system that can be used if needed.

May I suggest the Similkameeeeens , apparently it's very special.

Yes...very snowy in winter(not much rain at all) and dry heat summers(usually). It often is 35c daytime and 11c overnight
Overall drier climate than here with less than half the precip, mostly falling in winter

One summer around July 10, it was 27c daytime in the sun(considered a coolish day tbh). 2 mornings later was snowing 500 feet above cabin country. That mid afternoon the temp dropped to 7c at cabin with steady light rains and the mtn tops with snow on trees

Yes it does. Tell your friend that i would say, like 50-80 days a year it snows there..thats my guess
