Unfortunately for Bedard and Canucks fans, he's most likely going to Arizona. Although I just looked at the standings and the win last night already vaults Canucks ahead of Anaheim. Fun fact so far , the East only has 2 teams under 500, while the West has 7 teams. I suppose that's a silver lining if they can string a few wins together. But the better silver lining would be if they just keep sinking and win the Bedard sweepstakes , but of course we all know that ain't ever happening :x

He's going to sign with the Canucks at some point. Guy is an absolute die hard Canucks fan. I hope he goes to Arizona and they suck so he refuses to sign long term.

What the? Who woulda thunk it? Back to back jacks on consecutive nights? Their most convincing game and best team effort to date. And got it done with their backup and some ahl players.

Nice to see but the pens mailed that game in hard. Speculation is they went out on the town thinking the Canucks were pushovers.

Now despite my negativity I must admit its become obvious that kuzmenko is a future and possibly current star. I have no idea how we can afford him but I sure hope we do beacause damn, this guy is good every shift. He has all the tools on the ice and a great personality to add some colour to the team.

The Canucks are unforunately in big salary cap trouble. While I was hoping we would be able to resign Miller, I don't think we should have given him a 7 year 56 million deal. He likely wouldn't have signed for less so we should have traded him when he had big trade value. The fact is, it's now going to be very difficult if not impossible to resign both Kuzmenko and Horvat. It would be a shame to lose any of them in favour of Miller, who will be 30 when his new contract takes effect. I understand Miller scored 99 points last season and likely has many more good seasons ahead. But it would be a huge mistake in my opinion to choose him over Kuzmenko or Horvat since both are significantly younger and Horvat is our captain. One can only hope they are able to find a way to resign both of them but I'm not sure how they can do it unless they are able to free up some money somehow.

That said, tonight was by far the best game of the season and it's so good to see them playing with confidence again. :D

I thought signing mikheyev was the big mistake that'll make signing kuzmenko hard but honestly so far he's looked pretty incredible I have to admit. Maybe they can pawn off Myers' last year of his contract, he could be in demand as a RHD.

As of right now I think the biggest anchor is OEL's contract. Maybe buying him out is an option but that would probably be fairly costly , Aquilini might not go for it. Myers will come off the books in another year and salary cap going up by a few million. The only other options are trading one or two of their higher priced players like Boeser.

He's lost a step this year too. Immoveable contract for 6 more years. Jim 'Bending us over' strikes again.

Agreed. While Garland is a nice addition, it was not worth it to take on OEL’s contract. Another bad move by Benning.

Interesting it certainly wouldn't be just for a contract extension for Horvat skipper Gumps.
Must be regarding management or coaching l'm guessing, major trade perhaps. :dunno:

Who knows, maybe that's all it is.
New Jersey on Tuesday will be a tough out. From what I remember last year they're one of the fastest teams, good chance they'll move up the standings this year.
