I would check Drive BC and keep updated on what's going on. I think the main danger is in the Squamish river and Lilloet river drainages.. They are fed by massive glaciers including the Pemberton ice cap, (not to mention still some of last winters snowpack up high) that are seeing historical melting conditions right now.

Special props to Constable Gooser :police: for his hard work today collecting temperature data for us and the social platforms.
Lots of records today that were absolutely smashed and this is only day 1.

Well, if it gets there Monday it will still be useful...unfortunately.

Happy camping!

In my experience when a package delivery date goes “Pending” like this item just did, it stays in that state and sits in the local warehouse collecting dust until the eve of the end of the delivery window. Then the estimate comes up with the last day, which is when it gets delivered. And that day is July 6th.

The main reason I ordered it was smoke season. Unfortunately, I think I will be using it quite a bit later this summer.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Hey Sardine, no I've always been north Sardis. East Wack used to be in the Fairfield area. Let's see what the next couple days bring, it's awesome to be part of these memorable temps even though it can be quite uncomfortable.

Transformer blew down my street. So far my power is still on but looks like the complex behind ours is off. I took a walk and got a picture of the tripped fuse. Notice the fuse on the far left is tripped whereas the other two are still connected. Last time this happened BC Hydro had to shut off the power to the whole area in order to fix it, so hopefully that doesn't happen. If it does, our power will likely go out. Bye bye fans if that's the case.

Thinking of sleeping on a literal waterbed tonight. I may just sleep in the pool on a floatie. My above ground pool is a lukewarm bath. I've never had the water temperature reach 28C.

Humidex of 45 today at YXX. It could have gotten even higher in between observations, but we'll never know. I'm wondering if we could see a 50 degree humidex somewhere in BC either tomorrow or Monday. I believe Carman, MB holds the Canadian record of 52.6.
