Re: February 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
No more SSW. Now looks like the cold is sliding East when all the long range modeling indicated otherwise.
Feb looked like a sure bet with a sub 10% chance of a major episode of ridging. Looks like most cold will remain East and North for the next 2 weeks.
Hoping for an offshore flow to at least keep us dry. Looks like we got that going for us.

Re: February 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Bah. **** it all anyways. We got a nice 2 second winter there in January. I hope we get some solid dumps on the mountains the rest of February/March and maybe April.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 5:16 pm No more SSW. So the ridgy outcome that only had a 10% chance of verifying is likely the one that verifies. Stupid long range models.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 5:16 pm No more SSW. Now looks like the cold is sliding East when all the long range modeling indicated otherwise.

Re: February 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
As I said on the AF:
I was trolling Jesse because he's a rain/cloud wanker but it's the truth. I can't take the lack of sun here anymore.Honestly after nearly two straight months of endless precipitation, I can't wait till we get a death ridge, bringing 90s for Portland and upper 70s for here. Oh man, I cannot wait!
Please happen in May, please!!!
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

It just says farting windstorm. I'm not sure why the forum censors that.

465.8mm in January at Shawnigan lake. “Could†it be the wettest January ever here. I’ll try to check it out later. I’ll bet it’s at least top 3. 400mm+ months are pretty rare.

GFS looks like it might try something around day 10 with that Alaska ridge. Just to keep that small glimmer of hope alive.
