Has any place locally recorded a temperature below -5 this winter? I don't recall seeing anything below that. I saw some -4 somethings

Models watering down the pattern change as it reaches day 9-10. Looks like a potential undercut.

before the westerlies bring us some much needed mild rain.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
I've been as cold as -4.7˚C this month, which is still pathetic for a yearly min.
I guess it’s payback for those recent winters with -15˚C mins.

Coming home from Abby this morning my car said -5C on the Matsqui flats, which increased to -2C by the time I got up the hill in Mission. My weather station says a low of -2.7C a few minutes ago.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
I remember those days Abby Sr. definitely this pattern has morphed into an inversion of sorts l haven't checked the local ski hills but l don't think it's a full blown inversion it could be a thick layer below freezing above. As soon as l would cross the Abby/Mission bridge the temperature would begin to climb being over water does that too.
It's a very interesting micro climate at times upper Mission would be rain while other areas with the same elevation around the lower mainland would be snow that's just how pockets of cold air work l guess.

Day 7-12 has a progressive sort of look now. Blocking is favorable but there is no mechanism to lock in any subtantial cold.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:03 am It's sure gloomy on the AF this morning. :lol:all hope is fading for a 2019 redux but there's still a March 1951 redux on the table.![]()
