Actually come to think of it when l lived in Maple Ridge in early summer most like June or so l remember seeing all these bugs just lifting off from the grass like a big swarm up into the air just on masse.
Flying ants are also a problem here. I hope the heat kills off some of these pests, especially the wolf Spider population.
I swear I don't even want to exist by the end of September/October when they've grown into giant beasts. I have severe arachnophobia. But I have noticed the hot summers seem to result in less spiders in the fall.

Right so when l lived in MR that's what l saw l know it was more then 1 summer l saw them fly up from the ground just hoards of them. Didn't see them after moving out to the valley.
Is anyone with any expertise seeing any sign of thunderstorms in the forecast? I don't want any fires to start but a good light show to bring an end to the heatwave leading into a cooler period would be AWESOME. Also, I am wondering if a hot summer leads to more thunderstorms in general. 2009, when we set previous all-time records was the year of that epic thunderstorms that lasted all day- I think it was July 29th? I recall the orange sky at dusk and how the Symphony of Fire had competition with the lightning. Then our other hot summer, 2015....anyone recall if we had any decent storms that summer? 2017/2018 were hot summer but no big thunderstorms come to mind. It's been a long time since we've had a decent summer for storms. I feel like the 2009-2014 time period seemed to have a lot more summer thunderstorms for some reason. Maybe I'm wrong but I have memory of way more storms during that time.

Even in the basement it's hot and muggy.
That's surprising.
Basement at my place is partially underground. Temp usually hovers between 13c and 18c during summer. Was 21c earlier today and 19c right now. Pretty chilly actually.

Unfortunately Mrs. Bugs like winter after a cold snap we get dick for snow â„so after a massive heatwave we'll probably get a marine push.
Same idea as a mild pineapple flow in winter.
