Stark difference from Langley airport area to Willoughby heights.
Saw many of these fringe snowfalls during the 90s-00s, but not many this decade!
Tomorrow maybe a repeat of the same!
Sat, with the instability and late Feb sun, may be a repeat of a thunderstorm i vividly remember as a kid.
Early evening, playing road hockey, and thunder and lightning, followed by heavy graupel that accumulated 2”, followed by another 2” of snow. Done within an hour, cleared, then hard freeze.
Ah yes,the old road hockey in the graupel trick, those were the days my friend I thought they'd never end.
How good was that!

One convective snowy day I remember is back in the late 90's is when a stationary line brought 15 cm in North Burnaby and 70cm on Seymour. There was just 5cm on Cypress.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Typeing3 wrote: Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:30 pm At face value, the setup shown for next Thursday would probably bring a significant snowfall to us on the lower mainland as well. The track of the low would favour offshore flow in the upper levels and outflow would remain at the surface. We would have a cold interior on our side for once as a source to draw cold air from.
Would Thursday perhaps be an overrunning event then?

A Saturday Super Troff with thunder snow and snowfunnels would be a great way to end an epic and historical February.
