Side streets around here are in good shape. Snow covered but not icy/slippery.

Seems they left them like that on purpose:

This isn't even the heavier stuff if the models are to be believed. Best to come in the overnight hours.

I can see why municipalities here play it safe because you get all sorts of idiots trying to push their luck.

You don't see these rules in Sudbury because most locals understand the risks and even measure the ice before going onto a lake.

The GEM is a big mess. Heavy snow followed by an ice storm for the Fraser Valley. Though, the 10:1 maps in this case show much higher snow totals than the kuchera, which suggests that temperatures would be marginal and therefore, the totals are probably overdone.

The GFS is much colder than the GEM and is all snow. :flakey: :14clown:

Man made pond. I've put in dozens of hours digging but I estimate my father in law has put in hundreds of hours digging out gravel and clay.

Coquitlam usually does a good job responding to winter conditions. Lucky for us, as I know Vancouver and other cities in the metro region are often not prepared at all.

Your mayor/council seems competent. Vancouver has not been so lucky.
