Had to shovel and sweep snow today. It was light for once which is so nice compared to wet heavy back breaking slop.

Measured 14cm from last night. Although I was getting different measurements depending where I measured.

Had a low of -7 last night and a high of -2.0 today.

Current: -4.8
DP: -7
Mostly clear skies.

I did see some melt today on some surfaces exposed to the sun and close to the house.

I hope it also stays clear all night. Would like to see another -8 or so.

Ok. Here's the thing. If someone can dug up similar track to this upcoming system with Arctic air in place and see how that turned out.

We are in between the two examples below by David Jones. This is not typical storm that comes from SW and is really warm and flush the cold air very quickly.

3:29 PM PST Thursday 30 December 2021
Winter storm watch in effect for:

Whistler
Significant Winter Storm Expected this weekend.

Timeframe: This weekend.

Locations: Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, and Sea to Sky Highway - Squamish to Whistler.

Snowfall accumulation: 25 up to 45 cm.

Remarks: A strong storm system moving across the BC coast will bring heavy snow to the region starting Saturday morning. Snow will persist over inland sections through the weekend with snowfall amounts of 30 up to 45 cm expected.

Regions near the coast including Squamish will likely see snow transitioning to rain mixed with wet snow on Sunday as freezing levels rise. Depending on the exact timing of the transition, snowfall amounts of 25 to 35 can be expected.

Precipitation will ease Sunday evening as the storm system continues to move southeastward exiting the region.

Well it's ok really..up to you. Maybe PM him instead? I'm sure that many people are wondering the same thing as you and if he wanted to reveal his identity, he has had many opportunities to do so already but has not done so at least publicly on this forum.
By the way, is John ur real first name?  8-)

Radar wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 4:58 pm Thinking you are more inline with Env Canada. They also seem more accurate too. Not sure the wind change will be enough to scrub out some low lying cold air. Probably rain, cold rain. Melting may not be much though and the snowpack may shrink and densify.
But yet another cold troff quickly moves in behind the front. S winds may not even make it. Coastal folk are likely shafted. Abby may see a quick temp spike if S winds materialize. But I'm going snow allda way! John's house and east... likely wont hear from them for a while

Click on the first one to see the photos. Looks like the Fraser is starting to really get choked with ice around Surrey.
