Was October 2003 the wettest October on record? I remember the Squamish valley had like 700 mm that whole month, with most falling over a week. Other areas of the lower mainland got hit really hard too. It certainly was a pretty extreme Pineapple Express. I still have no idea why that one was so intense. Most of our AR events aren't quite that bad.

October 2003 was the third wettest October on record at YVR after 1975 and 1967.

I remember heavy rains in October and November would have caused frequent mud slides between horseshoe bay and Squamish,not so much anymore.

It's been relatively chilly the last few days , currently 16° at 2pm. Seasonal? Please don't anyone post that it's humid , or I'll buy you a one way ticket to Ontario or Quebec

Lots of road washouts in the past; not so in recent times. They really improved the #99 from 2007 thru 2010. If I recall correctly, November 1983 was the year of the big washout over there on the Sea to Sky. Another significant event in November was during the 1990s where the Coquitlam River overflowed onto Pitt River Road in Coquitlam.

With that said...it's not like we haven't had some very wet months recently. November 2016(*468.8mm), March 2017(*511.3mm) and January 2018(*482.3mm) come to mind.

That still doesn't compare with our worst AR event in Jan 1935. Across the lower mainland...40-70cm of snow over two days followed by one day of freezing rain and finally four straight days of rain totaling 200-400mm.

With that said...it's not like we haven't had some very wet months recently. November 2016(*468.8mm), March 2017(*511.3mm) and January 2018(*482.3mm) come to mind.
